You could pick out their letters from a stack of mail, know their notes from a single squiggle on a shared notebook. But ask yourself: do you know what your best friend’s handwriting looks like? Could you distinguish your sibling’s scrawl from a stranger’s? For many of us, the answer is a resounding no.
